Consequences of good work

According to a report from the Telegraph, Chelsea are “preparing” to offer a new contract to young striker Tammy Abraham, which would double his wages and extend his tenure at the club.
Abraham, who’s been with Chelsea since he was 7, signed his current deal two years ago and does have three years left to run on it still — so there is “no rush” — but his reported £50k weekly salary is one of the lowest, if not the lowest in the first-team.

If and when this deal does get done, the 21-year-old Abraham would become the latest Academy graduate to earn a new contract, joining Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, and hopefully soon, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James as well.
Chelsea’s youth revolution would then be complete, and the new world order set for years to come, ideally.
Tammy notched his first two senior professional goals for Chelsea over the weekend, though the idea of the extension had been in the works already. Scoring as many goals as possible will of course not hurt the situation one bit.
