Chelsea may be able to sign players in January if their appeal is successful - here’s how they could line up if the upcoming transfer window goes well.
Chelsea chiefs are already said to be making contact with players’ agents as they expect the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to cut short their transfer ban, which was imposed by FIFA in February.
The world governing banned Chelsea from signing players for two windows due to breaches in the transfer of youth players.
CAS are set to discuss the matter soon and, in the meantime, Blues bigwigs are beginning to identify potential January recruits.
“Chelsea are anxious to strengthen their squad and seem pretty confident that they will win the appeal and be able to trade again in January,” an agent told The Sunday Mirror.

He is planning to axe the long-serving player and give youth product Reece James a chance once he is fit but Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier could offer a top option while the youngster develops.
Meunier is in the last year of his PSG deal and plans to see it out at Parc des Princes but is worth getting in on the cheap.
