Manchester United 'consider' two deadline day striker signings

The latest Man Utd transfer gossip as they are linked with a number of different players ahead of the 2019 summer transfer deadline.

Manchester United are considering a deadline day summer transfer move for Mario Mandzukic or Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

United have just one day left to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League season and reports suggest a striker could be on the cards.

The first report from the Evening Standard suggests Juventus forward Mandzukic is still a possibility as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to reinforce his attacking options.

It is reported that Solskjaer acknowledges the likelihood that Lukaku will leave United this summer and a result the Norwegian has reopened talks to sign Mandzukic.

The report states that, although United would still be happy to start the season with no further arrivals, plans are reportedly in place to launch a late bid for the Croatian.

In terms of other transfer gossip, reports in France suggest United are still keen on a move for Dembele ahead of the deadline on Thursday.

Yahoo Sports France suggest there has been one bid for the forward from the Premier League, and they report United are the club behind it.

Similar to the earlier report, it is understood United are not desperate to sign a new centre forward, but that they have plans in place should they need to conclude a deal before the window closes.

However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted the forward will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.

“He will be with us this season. There will be no other departures," Aulas reiterated to RMC.
